In today’s episode of Event Ninja News I share with you learning from Amy Cuddy, called Power Posing.
Watch this week’s episode for my full description and for a quick overview keep reading below.

In a recent study people who adopted a High Power Pose had a:

20% increase in testosterone (dominance hormone) 10% decrease in cortisol (stress hormone)

Those who adopted a Low Power Pose had a:

25% decrease in testosterone 15% increase in cortisol

The Conclusion

Power Posing for 2 minutes you can create the above hormonal changes in your own body.
This configures your brain to be more assertive, more confident and deal with stress better. Automatically you reduce the ‘stress’ hormone and increase the ‘dominance’ or ‘power’ hormone.

In Essence

Your body and your posing can change your mind Your mind can change your behaviour And essentially your behaviour changes outcomes

So how can apply to us as event managers?

I can see this being so powerful at events. As the event manager we are under HUGE amounts of stress so why not help our bodies and our minds deal with this a little better?

So at your next event, or in your next stressful situation:

Rock on with your bad self and Power Pose for 2 minutes.
Event better, get your team to power pose with you before the event starts. You will be a force to be reckoned with.
