Do I really need to go and see the venue if I have used it before?

In today’s episode of Event Ninja News I answer the question “Do I really need to do a venue inspection if I have used the venue before?”

Watch this week’s episode for my full description or keep reading for a quick overview.

I was recently asked, “Kim, if I’m using a venue I have used in the past, do I really need to go and see it again?”

The answer is…. ABSOLUTELY!!

I am currently managing an event to be held at a venue that I have used on numerous occasions in the past. I’m very familiar with this venue. Nevertheless, just last week I visited it again so I can look at it through the eyes of THIS particular event.

I can’t stress this enough… every event is different and it doesn’t matter how well you know a venue, you’ve never looked at it from the perspective of this new event.

So, take the time, and go for that walk around with your venue contact. Come prepared with all of your specific questions jotted down and ensure that you know the space, and what is at your disposal, inside and out.

It will be too late when you turn up on the day of your event!

Have you ever wished you’d done a venue site inspection before your event, but for whatever reason decided not to or weren’t able to? I’d love to hear your stories. Send me an email and I’ll be sure to reply.

Keep running events, connecting people and changing lives.

x Kim
