Save thousands when booking group accommodation

Do you book accommodation for your conference or events? If you make group bookings (room blocks) at hotels do you ever ask for a Bed Only rate, instead of Bed and Breakfast?
Why do this?
Well, there is always a small percentage of delegates who opt for a breakfast on the run as opposed to a sit down buffet breakfast. If your accommodation contract is for a Bed and Breakfast room rate then sometimes you are paying for breakfasts that aren’t eaten.
In one example I saved our client over $5,000 with this one tweak to their booking, this conference had over 150 breakfast’s NOT eaten over 4 days.
Remember – In your event budget, I would include a number estimating that all delegates will eat breakfast. This way you are covered and hopefully you have a nice surprise and can make a reduction to this number at the end.
