Venues: Change this weblink to increase event enquiries

In today’s episode of Fill My Function Space, I explain how changing one weblink can result in more event enquiries.
If you are in a location where you are unable to watch this video I have included a short overview below.

Do you advertise your function space on venue directories and third party websites?
Then I have a great tip that will increase your event enquiries.
If you put yourself in the shoes of an in-house event manager for a second, think about how they find your venue?
Firstly, they will probably head straight for Google and start looking for venues in a particular location. Google venue searches most often result in links to venue directory pages as they are really well optimised for these sorts of searches.
Following the link to the directory, our event manager will then use this service to narrow down a list of venues which may suit their event.
If your venue is lucky enough to pop up on their short list, then I guarantee they are going to want more information and the first place they do this is to click on the link to your website.
Don’t you think after all of this work, the best place to take them to would be your functions page on your website? However, in the majority of cases, most directory weblinks take you direct to the venues homepage.

Then the poor event manager has to start searching your website for the functions section. You already know they’re looking for a function space, so why not take them straight there?
The easier you can make it for them, the more likely you’ll get enquiries.
What do you think?
If you have any comments or questions on this topic, I’d love to hear them. Place a comment here and I’ll be sure to rely.
As always keep the passion alive by running events, connecting people and changing lives.
