Venues: How changing ‘WE’ to ‘YOU’ on your website can increase event enquiries

Hello venue friends!
Today’s Venue TV is super quick and to the point. I discuss how a simple word can help you better relate to your customers and in turn entice them to contact you over your competitors.
If you are in a location where you are unable to watch the video, keep reading below for a quick overview.
What I would love you to do is look at the copy on your website. While you are there take note of how many times you use the word ‘we’ when you are describing your venue and the services you provide. Is it a lot? If so, great because this means you can make improvements and we love improvements!
There is a big difference between ‘we’ language and ‘you’ language in the world of customer engagement. Let me give you a couple of examples. If you were using ‘we’ language on your website it might say:
“At the Venues 2 Events hotel we specialise in providing x,y,z”
If you were using ‘you’ language it might look a little like the below:
“At the Venues 2 Events hotel when you hold your event with us, you can expect x,y,z”
Can you see the subtle difference? When you use ‘you’ language you involve the reader. They feel like you are talking directly to them rather than talking about yourself.
I’d love to hear how you go with this, are you using ‘we’ language or ‘you’ language? Leave a comment below to share the event love.

Keep running events, connecting people and changing lives.
x Kim
