About Werribee Open Range Zoo
Werribee Open Range Zoo is a unique venue for weddings, birthdays, corporate functions and everything in between. You can hold your cocktail party overlooking the African Savannah or have canapés with the Cheetahs. The Meerkat Room is the perfect venue for dinner functions with outdoor events at Lakeside Cove, Hippo Beach or the African Kia seating 800 guests (or cocktail to 1500). This unique venue offers your guests an unforgettable experience.

At Zoo Events we are committed to supporting the environment as well as local producers and suppliers. Importantly, all our food is made fresh on site and we even have our very own Zoo Bakery where we make all our own breads, cakes, pastries, sandwich and more.

Meerkat Room
The Meerkat Room features floor to ceiling windows looking onto the playful meerkat exhibit giving you a truly unique backdrop to your event. With a deck overlooking Lakeside Cove and the gorilla exhibit in the distance, this venue is sure to impress, seating 160 guests comfortably, or 250 guests for a standing cocktails and canapes. The meerkats at play in the background lend a joyful ambience to any event, with the surrounding African animals enhancing the overall exotic atmosphere.

Slumber Dining Hut

Werribee Open Range Zoo is located 35 Kilometres west of Melbourne’s city centre, on the Princes Freeway. It is a short 30-minute drive from the city over the Westgate Bridge or via the Geelong Road. (Take the Werribee South exit to K Road)
