3 things to increase guest attendance after people RSVP for your event

In today’s episode of Event Ninja News, I explain how these three simple steps will help increase guest attendance at your event.

Watch this week’s episode for my full description or keep reading for a quick overview.

Our time is so precious these days, that even if you get people to RSVP to your event, it doesn’t always mean they will turn up on the day. Even if they have paid money to attend.

Follow these three simple steps and I guarantee you will have more people attend your event.

STEP 1

If your guests are registering on-line, make sure a message pops up immediately after they have completed their registration, to confirm this.

It doesn’t need to be much. Just something along the lines of…

“Thanks for registering for XYZ event. Check your inbox for further details”

The last thing you want is for guests to be left wondering if they have filled in the form correctly or if their registration has been properly captured.

So, make sure whatever software or system you are using can do this for you.

STEP 2

Next, you need to make sure you can have an email sent out to your guests immediately after they have completed their registration.

If you’re not sure how to do this, have a look back at my posts on how you can set this up yourself.

To this email, attached a Confirmation Document.

This is a one or two-page document which I send out to all of my guests, which answers any question they might have about getting to and attending the event…

Location, including a map Parking information, including how much it will cost Public transport options Dress code Details of what catering will be available

Put yourself in your guests’ shoes… what would you need to know to make attending this event as simple as possible?

STEP 3

In the week leading up to your event, send a reminder email.

“…We look forward to seeing you Friday. If you have any questions…”

Re-attach the confirmation document, because by this stage it will be lost amongst the million emails they have received since you first sent it.

So there you have it! My 3 tips for getting people to turn up at your event!

Do you have any tips for turning RSVP’s into attendance on the day? I’d love to hear your ideas. Leave me a comment below and I’ll be sure to reply.

Keep running events, connecting people and changing lives.
