In today’s episode of Event Ninja News, I share with you three tips for how to save money on the food bill at your next event.
Watch this week’s episode for my full description or keep reading for a quick overview.
How would you like to save some money on one of the most expensive components of your event budget?
Of course you would! Well, here goes…
TIP NO. 1
From the very start… be open and honest and let your venue know what the catering budget is for your event. While this may seem a little risky, it has worked in my favour on so many occasions.
If you’re honest with the venue, then they may be able to tailor a package specific to your budget requirements. If they want to win your business then they will find a way to make it work.
TIP NO. 2
Ask for “Chef’s selection” canapes or main meals. If you are flexible with your menu choice, then this is a great way to keep costs down. Chef can then work out the most cost-effective way to feed your guests… perhaps by making your menu similar to another event happening somewhere else in the venue and not having to order in and making lots of different types of food for each function.
TIP NO. 3
Ask the venue if there are any items on the menu that are cheaper to produce. There are often two or three items on a menu that are cheaper to buy in and take less time to produce… the venue may be able to offer these to you at a lower cost.
So, there you have it… three simple tips which may help to lower the amount of money you need to spend on catering.
