How to confirm dinner and social function attendance super fast at registration

In today’s episode of Event Ninja News I share with you a simple tip for confirming dinner and social function attendance super fast at your registration desk.

If you’ve ever managed a sit-down dinner or social function that requires exact numbers, you know how important it is to confirm attendance so that everyone has a seat or something to eat (and drink!). You’ll also know it’s not the easiest thing to do.
We’ve come up with a quick and simple way to confirm each and every guest as they register.
As you’re setting up your registration desk, using your most recent guest attendance list as a guide, place a little sticky note or flag (something that is easy to take off) to each of the name badges of those guests who have said they are NOT attending the function.
When you hand each of your guests their name badge, if they have a flag, you can say something along the lines of…
“Hi, I see you haven’t registered for the dinner tomorrow night. Is that correct?”
If it is, then great, if not, and they do intend on coming, then you can update your list accordingly.
You can do the same thing for guests without a flag, to make sure they are still planning on coming.

Not only does this give you another touch point with each of your guests, but it also makes you look like a ninja with your guests (by knowing exactly what they did and did not register for without even looking at a list… MAGIC!) and with your venue when you get the numbers spot on!
