2 quick tips on using a venue directory to find the perfect venue

In today’s episode of Event Ninja News, I share with you two tips for using venue directories to find the perfect venue for your event.

What is the first thing most of us do when we start looking for a venue for our next event (or just looking for ANYTHING in general!)? We head straight for Google!

If you do start with Google, the first pages that are likely to come up in the search are venue directories. And they are a great place to start.

Here are a couple of tips, though, to make sure you get the most out of them.

TIP NO. 1

Have a look at more than one.

Each directory will have a different range of venues, depending on the way that they work and the way they promote their venues. Also, not all venues list on every directory. So make sure you check out a couple so you’re covering your bases to find the best venue for your event.

TIP NO. 2

Do NOT start your venue search without a detailed idea of what you are looking for.

I like to create a “Venue Brief”, which covers off everything you are looking for in a venue. Even if you don’t create a detailed document to send to each venue, at the VERY least, make sure you copy and paste the exact same information to send to each different venue. This way they are all quoting on the same information and you can compare apples with apples.
