The Cascade Brewery Company, established in 1824, is located in Hobart at the foot of the majestic Mount Wellington. Here, Australia’s oldest operating brewery crafts a range of exceptional beers for Tasmania and ‘the mainland’.
The Cascade brewery is a great spot to enjoy your favourite Tasmanian brew. Our picturesque bar has a complete range of Cascade beers and Mercury ciders and our chefs serve a delicious menu of beer snacks, share plates and hearty lunches to enjoy in our restaurant or out in our three acres of heritage gardens.
Looking out over majestic Mount Wellington, the brewery facade, and our three acres of heritage gardens, Cascade Brewhouse is an essential Hobart experience. The Cascade Brewhouse also hosts private events and functions, providing an adaptable venue with areas suited to weddings, conferences, and all manner of celebrations for up to 300 guests and can make your function especially memorable offering exclusive access for a private brewery experience.

Degraves
Welcoming and radiant, overlooking Mount Wellington and our heritage gardens, the Degraves Room offers the perfect setting for your event. This large room with fantastic views and direct garden access is suited to casual and gala dinners or a relaxed cocktail function. The Degraves Room features a built in dance floor and a copper-tapped bar where guests can enjoy fresh Cascade beers, Mercury ciders and a selection of local wines.

The Stables
A unique self-contained function space that captures the long history of Cascade, the Stables is an inspiring backdrop for conferences or private events. With high ceilings, timber floors and historic displays the Stables is a distinctive room suited to up to 100 guests. Available for day-time and evening functions this space boasts a private bar and integrated projector and AV system ensuring a no-fuss experience from start to finish.

Set against the majestic backdrop of Mount Wellington, this iconic, almost 200 year old sandstone building is Australia’s oldest operating brewery. A true visionary and gifted architect Peter Degraves also financed and built Hobart’s Theatre Royal, Australia’s oldest Theatre.
Founded upon the vision of its founder, Peter Degraves, to produce “genuine beer… beer that cannot be excelled in this colony” Cascade Brewery brews and packs 23 different brands of draught beer and cider and almost 4.4 million litres of beer each year, all made from the cascading, pure mountain water of Mt Wellington.
Uncover the wonder of the beer making process, marvel at the beauty of this iconic landmark building, and be captivated by the humorous, inspiring and at times tragic tale of Cascade’s forefathers, as you are expertly guided in small intimate groups through one of the world’s best brewery tours.
